  • Potato onions and Babbington Leek look as if going to seed......after being moved...

    I had to do an unplanned move to make an asparagus bed...and this added to the stress of my already stressed Potato onions ( neglected at end of last year as family illness). Similar with my Babbingtons.


    so may have Potato onion seed....we shall see. Its happening with two of the varieties......white PO and red.

      Yes, but It may not just be stress what causes the flowering. I am not sure why they sometimes do and other times don't. Just a note about moving Babington Leek. They have these bulblets hanging off the main bulb. They tend to detach easily and stay in the ground. You will get Babington's popping up for a few years in the old location. Not a problem as you can just pull them and eat them young Hector.
