  • Sugar Drop Tomato

The description for this tomato sounds wonderful, a very sweet yellow cherry, tall growing and setting fruit fairly early. Best of all it is open pollinated so plants grown from saved seed will come true to type. It's bred by J&L Garden Seeds, who have developed some super varieties. Unfortunately this one seems to still be segregating and the first ripe fruits are bright shiny red! They are small sized cherries, around half way between a cherry and a currant in size, perhaps reflecting their breeding and wild ancestry? Colour aside, these taste amazing! So very sweet and tangy they really are good, downside I think they will be a bit fiddly to pick.
