Flower colour and tuber colouring

I am excited to find today that the first of my potatoes from tps has a flower opening. It’s a delightfully pretty shade of mauve. I look forward to seeing it fully open.

It led me to wonder to what extent there’s a correlation between flower colour and tuber colouring. I guess white flowers are common and go with whitish flesh and pale skins, but otherwise?

Very pretty! Not sure about others but Highland Burgundy Red has white flowers.

Ah, white flowers don’t equal pale skin and tuber then. So far, no obvious connection appears

I couldn’t find anything online to suggest a correlation, though my search wasn’t by any means exhaustive.
