I am wondering if not Polygala

Leaves look right. They do come in a range of colours, but your colour is different from the standard purple. There are a lot of photos on google. What makes you doubt it is polygala?

I know....I had thought, from my records, that I had purchased as a dark pinky purple flowered Polygala, but noone else seems to have that colour?

It wouldn't be by any chance one of those plants that has a different flower colour according to soil ph? Like hydrangea
